TERMS OF USE
Make every lecture easier to revisit.
Acceptance
By downloading or using AstraLect, you agree to these Terms of Use and the applicable terms of the Apple App Store. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
The service
AstraLect lets you record or import lecture media, create timestamped transcripts and AI-assisted study notes, play source audio, and export your materials. Some features are local. Cloud processing, account synchronization, and paid features require a supported account and network connection.
Your account and content
You are responsible for keeping access to your Apple or Google sign-in secure and for activity under your account. You retain the rights you have in recordings and other material you submit. You give AstraLect the limited permission needed to host, copy, transmit, transcribe, analyze, and return that material in order to provide the service.
You must have the rights and permissions needed to record, upload, share, and process a lecture or other person's voice. Do not upload material that is unlawful, infringing, confidential without authorization, or restricted by your school, employer, or another person.
AI-generated material
Transcripts and study notes are generated with automated systems and may contain omissions, errors, or incorrect interpretations. They are study aids, not an official record, professional advice, or a substitute for checking the original recording and reliable sources. You are responsible for reviewing outputs before relying on, sharing, or submitting them.
Credits and subscriptions
Plans may include a monthly or otherwise stated allowance of AI Credits. Credits measure processing usage inside AstraLect; they are not money, a deposit, a security, or a transferable property right. Credit amounts, reset rules, supported operations, and any limits are shown in the app and may vary by plan and storefront.
Subscriptions are purchased through Apple and normally renew automatically unless canceled through your Apple Account subscription settings before the renewal deadline shown by Apple. The price, billing period, taxes, and currency shown by Apple at purchase control. An upgrade, downgrade, billing issue, expiration, or refund may change access and Credits according to the App Store transaction state and the plan rules shown in the app.
Cancellation, restore, and refunds
You can manage or cancel a subscription in Apple Account settings. Restore Purchases in AstraLect can be used to recover eligible purchases on a supported account. Apple controls payment processing and refunds; contact Apple for a refund request unless the issue is the AstraLect service itself. Contact support@astrailab.com if a verified purchase does not appear or an account needs investigation.
Acceptable use
Do not misuse AstraLect, bypass Credits or access controls, probe or overload the service, submit malicious code, impersonate another person, reverse engineer the service except where law permits, or use outputs to harm another person. We may limit or suspend access to protect users, the service, or legal rights.
Availability and changes
Features depend on Apple devices, operating-system services, network access, third-party providers, and available capacity. We may improve, change, pause, or discontinue a feature. We will not remove rights that cannot legally be removed, and paid access remains subject to the transaction and consumer protections applicable to you.
Deletion and termination
You may delete lectures or your account from AstraLect. We may suspend or terminate an account for material violation of these terms, fraud, abuse, or a legal requirement. Deletion or termination may remove active cloud content; minimal records needed for security, billing reconciliation, disputes, or legal obligations may remain.
Disclaimer and liability
To the extent permitted by law, AstraLect is provided on an as-is and as-available basis. We do not promise uninterrupted operation, error-free transcripts, complete notes, a particular academic result, or that every recording format or provider will remain available. Nothing in these terms excludes consumer rights or liability that cannot legally be excluded. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or loss-of-data damages arising from use of the service.
